About the Midwest Region

Our Geographic Territory, Purposes, Meetings and
Organizational Documents.

Welcome to the Midwest Region of the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA). The Region includes NMRA members in parts of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and Wisconsin.

The purposes of the Region are to promote, stimulate, foster, and encourage by all manner and means the art and craft of model railroading and the preservation of the hobby's history, science, and technology. The Region accomplishes its purposes through its Divisions, publishing the Waybill (a quarterly newsletter), holding Conventions and by promoting the NMRA Achievement Program. See the Division web pages for detailed activities in your local area.

Meetings of NMRA members residing in the Region are normally held in conjunction with the annual convention. Between these meetings, a Board of Directors governs and administers the Region. The Board consists of five Officers, seven Directors-at-Large and ten Division Directors. A Division Director is elected or appointed by each Division. The President, Vice President and Directors-at Large are elected by all Region members. For information about the next election, click here.

The Region's organizational documents (Charter, Articles of Incorporation, Constitution, Bylaws and Policies & Procedures) along with minutes of recent annual member meetings and Board of Directors meetings can be viewed under the Administration tab of the Midwest Region Site Menu below.
